Hello and welcome! I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and completed my 200 hour teacher training through Yoga North’s International SomaYoga Institute. I discovered yoga in college and began practicing vinyasa and hatha yoga. I have always enjoyed bringing playfulness and joy, as well as mindfulness and grounding to my yoga practice and the classes I teach. I was initially drawn to yoga as a way to cope with stress and anxiety, and have used yoga as a support throughout my adult life. I have always enjoyed practicing all different forms of yoga, and recently have watched my yoga practice grow to include more focus on breath work, meditation, restorative poses, and somatic movements, which led me to the teachings of SomaYoga. SomaYoga is a form of yoga that blends somatics, therapeutic yoga, and classic asana, and encourages finding an ongoing balance of stability and mobility in the body, mind, and spirit.
When taking my classes, you can expect to find components of SomaYoga and Hatha Yoga, allowing for easy exploration, balance, mindfulness, and flow. In addition, my yoga classes aim to increase self-compassion, body positivity, and acceptance for all beings. All classes are open and welcoming for all levels and bodies, and encourage students to practice their yoga from a place of open curiosity, gratitude, and gentle exploration.
