Christina Thompson believes each client comes with their own unique story and the ability to improve their life. She enjoys working collaboratively with clients to identify their strengths and find new solutions to unhelpful patterns. Christina is passionate about empowering individuals, couples, and families to live more authentic lives. With that, she strives to create a safe and judgment-free space where clients can heal, explore, and improve.
Christina has experience providing therapy to a culturally diverse population of adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She is an ally to the LGBTQ community. She utilizes a variety of modalities, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her areas of expertise and clinical interests include: anxiety, depression, mindfulness, emotion-regulation, grief and loss, communication issues, integrative health and the mind-body connection, and self-harm.
Christina earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She is also a certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator. As a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Trainer, Christina emphasizes the importance of balance, the balance between showing ourselves compassion and challenging ourselves beyond our comfort zone.
Outside of the office, Christina enjoys spending time outdoors with her partner and their two dogs, doing home renovation projects, and going to concerts. She also has a passion for traveling and learning about new cultures.
